Research and Writing Skills - Compare Primary Sources

As you learned in Chapter 10, primary sources are "snapshots" of history.  They are created by people who were there at the time of the event.  On p. 472-473 in your Social Studies textbook, you will need to read the What, Why, and How about two primary sources; the English Bill of Rights and the U.S. Constitution.  Then, answer the "Think and Apply" questions 1-3 on p. 473 on the blog.

  18. 1.A key word to know is primary sources and it shows to compare them and examine the translations carefully.
    2.They are addressing the reader and telling them how to compare primary sources, meaning old pictures or documents.
    3.When comparing sources, you should look at the important key words that summarize that source you can also tell, by comparing, if one thing influenced the other. If you do not know words in the source, you should look them up in a dictionary.
