  8. 1) They divided Earth into 24 time zones because Earth rotates 360 degrees every day. (24 hours) They could establish each time zone 15 degrees apart. However, sometimes the boundaries had to be changed because of political boundaries.

  19. How do scientists create time zones? They create them by dividing the earth into 24 parts. Because the earth rotates 360 degrees a day and each time zone is 15 degrees apart, so 360 divided by 15 is 24. there is a three hour difference between Los Angeles. if it is 6:00 P.M. in Washington D.C. then it will be 9:00 P.M. in Los Angeles. Mexico and Chicago are in the same time zone.
