Weekly History and Geography-32

Talk Like An Aussie.

If you travel to the "Land Down Under," you need to know how to talk the talk as well as how to walk the walk.  Click on the Fact Monster Link, http://sf.factmonster.com/quizzes/aussie/1.html, and take the "Aussie Talk" quiz.  Then, return to the blog and reflect on the following questions:

    2) animals drink from a bingabong in Australia.

    4) I learned what vegemite and a varanda is

    5) I learned that no matter how hard something seems if you keep pushing on and beilive in yourself you will achive your goals

    2.let's go and eat some vegemite on toast.

    4.How people can be decieved and think something might help another race when it really doesn't.

    Question 2- Would you like a biccie, with your meal?

    Question 3- I learned what a gum tree is and what plums look like. : ) and what a veranda is.

    Question 4- I learned about half-cast children and what they do to them. I also learned about how dangerous it would be if you escape and the extent they would go to catch them.

    2) I know people who are Kiwi's.
    3) Clothes lines are popular.
    4) There are parts of the Rabbit-Proof Fence that cross so they have different names such as the the North Fence or the East Fence.

    Vegimite sounds nastey.

    uhh..theres weird things in "Aussie"

    Theres a giant fence in the middle of Austrullia and yeah hehe

    3. something in gum comes from trees.
    4. there is a fence to keep out rabits from one side and it's the longest fence in the world.

  16. 1) My quiz score was really bad... it was 5 right and 5 wrong. (50%)

    2) I ate the biccie in one bite.

    3) I learned what gumtrees are and that they are real. I also learned that a Veranda is usually in the front and it's the porch. I also learned about the Vegemite and that it's like a spread on bread that is like peanut butter/butter. I also learned that Koala's are actually just always tired because of the drugs in the Eucalyptus leaves. They are actually wild animals.

    4) I learned how harsh people were back there and how half-caste children were just taken back then. I also learned how they were just so mean to them. They would whip them and there were always severe punishments if they tried to run away. They were also very religious.
